From our café and gardens, to business spaces and studios for hire, all our facilities are open to the public and fully accessible for any additional needs you may have.

The Hive Café is a big and bright space open to everyone. Whether you’re using our facilities or just passing by, you’re always welcome at The Hive.

Get yourself a tasty full breakfast, hot and cold lunch, coffee and tea or a simple grab-and-go snack.

Monday: 7.30am – 5.00pm
Tuesday: 7.30am – 6.30pm
Wednesday: 7.30am – 6.30pm
Thursday: 7.30am – 5.00pm
Friday: 7.30am – 5.00pm
Saturday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
Sunday: closed

Family friendly

This versatile open-plan area is family-friendly, and with a children’s library on the same floor, it’s perfect for parents.

High chairs and changing facilities are available.

Accessible and inclusive

At The Hive Café we’re all about accessibility.

Our well-lit, open-plan space has wheelchair access and caters to everyone, no matter what your needs.

With many of our staff being British Sign Language (BSL) users, you can order in BSL. And if you don’t know how, we can always teach you!

Reserve a table

You can reserve tables at The Hive Café for informal events. Depending on the size of your party, there may be a minimum spend. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

Our performance space accommodates up to 180 people and offers the latest technology. It has a Harlequin semi-sprung floor ideal for drama, dance or sport – but is also perfect for anything from training sessions, to conferences, to parties.

Community hire

We are happy to offer discounted hire rates to local residents and community groups, whether you want to book a meeting, a children’s party or a weekly dance class.

For less formal events, tables/areas are available for reservation in our cafe/hub area and may be offered free of charge subject to a minimum spend at the cafe.

TouchBase Pears Business Centre provides a variety of desk rental, office space options and meeting rooms for anywhere between 2 and 180 people. With our on-site cafe and flexible hire packages, there’s something to suit every business.

From a small informal gathering to conferences, performances or functions for up to 180 people, we have a space to suit you. At TouchBase Pears you can relax and know your event is in safe hands.

Our staff are trained to offer a warm welcome and make sure things run smoothly, whether you’re working at a hotdesk for the day or running a large-scale conference.

High quality catering is also available for your event from the Hive cafe, matched to your needs.

TouchBase Pears is the base for Selly Oak Library, a children’s library with a small adult bestsellers section, large print and audio books and free use of PCs, printing/copying facilities. You can order in and return any Birmingham Libraries book and take part in library-run activities such as Storytime and Summer Reading Challenge.
