About Sense

Two women communicating via deafblind manualSense is a national charity that supports people who are deafblind, have sensory impairments or complex needs, to enjoy more independent lives. Our expertise in supporting individuals with communication needs benefits people of all ages, as well as their families and carers.

Founded more than 60 years ago, Sense has its roots in families coming together to support each other after their children were born deafblind. Over the years Sense has grown and now provides services for children and adults right across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our sister organisations Sense Scotland and Sense International share our vision and work.
